Raul Lorenzo Rubio was born September 5, 1960 in Laredo, Texas.
Raul began his journey in southern Texas. Because he couldn't travel overseas as a young man, he explored Mexico. Mexico was his Europe for a time, those wonderful travels fostering his interest in still-broader exploration.
